Going to be even more busier from now on

| 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

After many things had been briefly planned, I found out that I would have been busier than I thought.

Series: A short break before working

I spent two days straight, planning out what I want to do beside working. Although I still want to finish a series of "A short break before working", processing 1,121 photos takes some time.

Research

I am considering on discontinuing the research as I don't really have time spent on it. But I still want to do as it is very interesting and new for me.

Projects

After well organizing idea regarding to projects, I now had a pretty clear picture of tasks that could be issued. I might thank to MediaWiki and Buzilla to make my planning easier.

Conclusion

It looks a lot of things to be done according to the plan but I think I am happy to do still.

Opinion and Counter Statement: Thaksin seeking asylum in UK

| 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

When people tell rumors regarding to something, those rumors are hard to believe. However, the rumors about the ousted Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra are usually almost 100% possible to occur.

According to his statement to the public that was released this morning, as always, he accused the unfair judicial system in Thailand, the effort to assassination and political elimination.

In my opinion, it is just the another act to gain the support from the public. Anything he accuses, I have reason to believe that he is just a big fat liar and troublemaker.

He accused the country's legal system of employing "double standard" in their proceeding with legal matters against him and his family.

The former premier said he and his family have repeatedly received death threats and that they had to travel in bullet-proof cars.1

He claimed there were "intervention in judicial system" that originated from intervention by dictatorship who has hidden agenda to "get rid of me and my family".1

I have been tracking the political situation in Thailand since 2005. I find hard to believe almost all of his OVERSTATED statement, except "intervention". There are reports regarding to a number of failed interferences of Thaksin in judge selections for his trials, conspiracy etc. due to the persistent investigations of press, the opposition party, senetors, anti-Thaksin groups, the Royal Thai Army and maybe royalists. He was right about the intervention but he did not mention that it is only his intervention.

In his statement in Thai broadcasted by NBT, he mentioned about the attempt in assassinating him and his family members. This is the another one that I don't find possibilities of the attempted assassination on his family. First, anyone who hate him is not stupid enough to get rid of his family in the old-fasion way as they all will be being punished by laws.

"What happened to me and my family and my close relations resulted from efforts to get rid of me from politics," Mr Thaksin said in the hand-written statement.

"These are my political enemies. They don't care about the rule of law, facts or internationally recognised due process."2

When I saw this statement, I was laughing so hard. He once said he would not have any involvement in Thai politics anymore. If he thought as he said, I wondered why he did care so much about that such a effort. This is proving that he is still waiting for a moment to return to politics.

So, what he is aiming for, anyone can guess.

His family's fleeing to UK is nothing unexpected. The current situation is unfavorable to him after his wife is found guilty in tax fraud and sentenced in jail for 3 years.

If my knowledge of law serves me right, even though his family is running away to UK and seeking asylum in UK, he is not yet safe. It is possible that he might not make it as UK has an agreement with Thailand on sending criminal for trials if the supreme court decides to do so. Moreover, as soon as the court issues the warrant and Thaksin becomes a criminal, he will lose the ownership of his football team according to the code of UK football league. (In the meanwhile, there is a rumor of him preparing to sell it.) As the king endorsed the new minister of foreign affair, if he was serious enough, he could report to UK regarding to suspicious money that Thaksin used to buy his football team. This result freezing the asset of his and his associates' and revoking his ownership. So, it is not surprised if he is in the bad mood as not to mention that many cases are waiting for him any time he feels like want to step on the motherland again in his life.

According to the following statement, he actually makes me sick.

In a statement released to the Thai media, Mr Thaksin said he and his wife would remain in the UK, "where democracy is more important".2

He tried to illustrate that Thailand did not care about the democracy. As his people in cabinet now, I want to say it is him who think democracy is not important and make the country that have no lawsuit to him more democratic.

My family and I have been continuously treated unjustly.1

He did not actually blame his actions. These accuses are not something being made up. Many investigations has to be re-done so many times before actual trials.

He apologised to the Thai people for his decision to live in England, where his daughter is attending university and where he owns several properties, as well as the Manchester City football club.

This actually shows the true nature of politicians the they run away when they are in trouble. His apology may have been accepted by his stupid supporters however the judicial system didn't accept it.

"These are all results of my tireless effort to help the country. I apologise for having to seek relocation to England. I ask that all my supporters to remain with me a bit longer," Thaksin said.

Thaksin said he revealed the whole truth at an appropriate time, saying "Today is not my day."

I do not really under what on earth his "tireless effort" is for. All he did were not helping the country at all yet he mostly looked for profit from your policy, for example the billion-dollar deal with Temasek for his corporation. I do not understand also that why the poor people do not think logically about the truth behind his actions or his words. This may be the great proof of the claimed "lowest-level" education standard of Thailand.

"If I am fortunate enough, I will return and die on Thai soil, just like other Thais," he said.

In my opinion, he might come back in two statuses, a DB or a criminal since no matter what, he is already a dead man. In addition, not only his word is unreliable but his actions is now causing the international distress between the long fellows UK and Thailand.

3 straight own goals

I just finished one game in Winning Eleven 2008. It is the match between Japan (me) and Brazil (professional-level computer). Actually, only looking at the scoreboard wouldn't make this match special for me because I usually win 7-0. But this was special as since I scored the first four goals in the first half, the rest were scored by the goalie (2 own goals) and a defensive player (1 own goal). This was really funny though.

Output Data Optimization

Today, I went all out to try if CoE SDK can actually be used to develop a website. I found out that everything went really smoothly. As its architecture allows the flexibility of implementation, the only problem may be the encodings.

In CoE SDK 1.5, I am adding a feature called "Output Data Optimization". This feature make the output data (i.e. XML/HTML code generated by your app) smaller by cutting some escape characters and a long whitespace. This feature will be turned off by default. As far as I can tell, this decreases the size of the response data even without the compression from web servers.

The general downside of this feature is your response data becomes unreadable.

If you want to try, you can check out from the nightly-built CoE SDK at http://yotsuba.shiroyuki.com/source.

X-Mode: Out of Service for Re-architecture

| 0 Comments | 0 TrackBacks

When I first designed this application, it was just for testing stuff like features of CoE SDK. However, I totally forgot to keep the code maintainable and scalable. As I cannot maintain both sub projects while my hands are full of tasks from the project at work. It is kinda sad to say goodbye for now. However, I am still working CoE development and re-architect the whole X-Mode service and a new game plan for X-Mode service.

Conclusion at 2008.07.31

X-Mode: the development is postponed indefinitely until the re-architecture is done. CoE SDK: the development is still on going.
