What’s coming in 2010
I have been arguing to myself for a while whether I should have purged my research on mobile peer-to-peer architecture or not. Why? Because, for one year and a half, I haven’t touched that research, to be honest. Additionally, it is the volunteer academic research that I work under the supervision of the professor at UW. I did have strong reason to quit the research which is that I am pretty much a full-fledged web developer. The research is not so interesting to my career.
However, in the past 6 months, I was dumbfounded that I couldn’t find something interesting to do.
Yotsuba is my biggest success of 2009 with more that 1500 downloads in despite of incomplete implementation. In contrast, Trefoil is, although too fast to judge, not very successful. Panote and I found that it may be only suitable for some specific uses.
There are at least 4 projects, including 1 jointed project with Nissan, that I want to do. However, I get bored of web development again.
So, what is coming in 2010? I intentionally devote my spare time to the academic research, the development of Yotsuba 2.3 and Yotsuba 3. If Nissan can come up with plan on the unnamed project, I will be doing that too.
By the way, it took me a while to come up with what would be in Yotsuba 2.3 (see Yotsuba 2.3) and Yotsuba 3.
