What’s coming in 2010

I have been arguing to myself for a while whether I should have purged my research on mobile peer-to-peer architecture or not. Why? Because, for one year and a half, I haven’t touched that research, to be honest. Additionally, it is the volunteer academic research that I work under the supervision of the professor at UW. I did have strong reason to quit the research which is that I am pretty much a full-fledged web developer. The research is not so interesting to my career.

However, in the past 6 months, I was dumbfounded that I couldn’t find something interesting to do.

Yotsuba is my biggest success of 2009 with more that 1500 downloads in despite of incomplete implementation. In contrast, Trefoil is, although too fast to judge, not very successful. Panote and I found that it may be only suitable for some specific uses.

There are at least 4 projects, including 1 jointed project with Nissan, that I want to do. However, I get bored of web development again.

So, what is coming in 2010? I intentionally devote my spare time to the academic research, the development of Yotsuba 2.3 and Yotsuba 3. If Nissan can come up with plan on the unnamed project, I will be doing that too.

By the way, it took me a while to come up with what would be in Yotsuba 2.3 (see Yotsuba 2.3) and Yotsuba 3.

Yotsuba 2.1 released

Yotsuba 2.1 is now officially released. This version is to resolve the problem in the undocumented module yotsuba.fs that causes yotsuba.XML and yotsuba.kotoba failed to parse an XML document on Windows platform. Thanks to Tim Mashinter of Primal Fusion Inc. to help me debug and fix the issue.

News and Articles about the Stage of Emergency in Bangkok, Thailand

Articles from Times Online (UK)

Updates from Bangkok by CNN’s Dan Rivers

BBC’s Interview with Thai PM Abhisit

State of Emergency in Bangkok

Yesterday, Thai PM Abhisit declared the stage of emergency in Bangkok as the protesters become agressive and violent so that they took over two tanks sometimes before the declaration. The govertment also issued arrest warrants for leaders.

Personally, I think the govertment should disband these sons and daugthers of bitches and get Thaksin’s ass back for the charge of the national treason. I also personally agreed about the early decision to play defensive. But now it’s a time to offend and teach those bitches what the democrazy is.

(warning: coarse language)

Yotsuba 2 is still a work in progress

I’m so sorry about abandoning the development. I recently migrated my website from Movable Type to Wordpress and some contents were not migrated over. This project is active and is my first-priority project. Until I have time to remake the official page, Project Yotsuba’s site at Google Code continuously serves as the project’s temporarily official website.

I am deeply sorry for the confusion.
