Blog Portfolio

Early Update for supagarn.ac.th

Two days ago, I got a call from my brother about the website of Supagarn School. Apparently, the school need to change the content. In the previous design, except the blog section powered by WordPress 2.3.1, the rest are done manually with PHP.
While I was integrating the content back to WordPress and upgrading WordPress, there is a problem occurred. Eventually, it forced the entire website out of service and it also forced the official website of Yotsuba Project temporarily out of service as well. Therefore, I had to perform a RAPID design and brought both websites back within 6 hours.
It actually only took 3-4 hours to recover and re-design both websites eventually.

Consulting Work at ANS Wireless

It actually happened two days ago. My true intention was to pick up my brother. But, it ended up with the another talk about web development. Well, this is more like lectures than talks. This company is weird. They provide services that their executive officers want. So, basically, their services are based neither on users’ demand nor on market. They are many weird thoughts. For example, they prefer being on time than quality. This means no matter how good web design is. If a web designer cannot do as perfect as the design, they still accept and use that web site. In the other word, a good web designing becomes useless because of unskilled web developers. In my opinion, this company is helpless as long as they works selfishly inefficiently roughly and systematically.

Talk at ANS Wireless

Last Friday, I had a chance to give a talk at ANS Wireless Inc., the owner of Chicky Club (mobile multimedia service), in Bangkok. This talk was actually a practice for the real one for the Computer Science Club of the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada this Fall. It took about one hour and a half. I mainly concentrated on errors in their web design like inappropriate uses of technology and unfriendly design (e.g. incompatibility with many browsers, bad navigation, possible causes of vulnerability on clients and servers etc.). Because my brother knows their development team and he tells me that they misunderstands about AJAX, therefore, I’ve given them a lecture about the basic concept of AJAX, hacking and networking. Eventually, I also suggest them possible solutions.

In my opinion, it was a fun and interesting talk. It also made me nervous because this was my first official academic talk and all of the audiences were hell a lot older than me. Eventually, they all listened me silently and decided to renovate everything.
